XLVIII. Famous Penguins

  • Aunt Arctic:

Aunt Arctic is the news reporter and editor-in chief for the well-known newspaper on Club Penguin Island, the Penguin Times. She is responsible for keeping all penguins around the island informed about the daily news. She is such a skillful writer, she even has her own column; where she makes it her duty to answer any troubling questions her fellow citizens might have. Her section of The Penguin Times is entitled Ask Aunt Arctic, where any penguin can post their question. She is a key character in Mission #1 when she had lost her green and purple puffles that had to be returned. The purple puffle had came to her before they were available in the Pet Shop. She first waddled around the island during the Penguin Play Awards, during which she could be found in a variety of locations, especially the Backstage. There is no person who “officially” controls Aunt Arctic, but Aunt Arctic is controlled by the whole Club Penguin crew. She was once also believed to be the PSA Director due to the fact she would wear black sunglasses.

untitled

  • Gary the Gadget guy

Gary the Gadget Guy (more formally known as Agent G), is Club Penguin’s only inventor and scientist and also the owner of the Sport Shop. He likes wearing a white lab coat and his special twisted spectacles, and enjoys eating Fish Dish Pizza, Cheese pizza, and a combination of icing, sugar, hot sauce, jelly beans, and Fish Pizza. He is almost always seen drinking Coffee. It is rumored that fine-tuning the coffee machine to play music while the coffee was brewing was one of his first projects. It’s not known how G has his eyes. On a recent edition of The Penguin Times his eyes appear like Sensei’s, but smaller.
On Club Penguin Times issue 200, it was mentioned that Gary will make an appearance at the Festival of Flight 2009, and in the section “In Focus: A Waddle Down Memory Lane”, Gary was quoting the quote at the top of the page.

untitled

  • DJ Cadence

Cadence, also known as DJ K-Dance or DJ Cadence (pronounced dee-jay kay-dance), is a local Club Penguin DJ, and a great dancer. She is a peach colored penguin who has purple hair with pink tufts, green headphones, a pink and yellow scarf, pink and yellow bangles, black eyelashes, along with white and black shoes. She does not have any body items, however. Cadence and others like to think of her as a cool penguin, usually indicated by the hip attire and the way she speaks.
Her favorite phrase is, “It’s time to dance!“. She likes to call herself the “Dance Machine”. Like Rockhopper, the Penguin Band, Gary, and Aunt Arctic, she waddles around Club Penguin Island giving out a free background. Penguins using a cheating device such as Penguin Storm can get her hair, bangles and shoes, but this is cheating, which is against the rules.

untitled

  • Rockhopper

Captain Rockhopper (commonly known as Rockhopper) is a friendly pirate penguin that regularly sails to Club Penguin via the Migrator (usually about every two months or so); accompanied by his red puffle, Yarr. His ship is always docked at the Beach. He keeps a journal of his adventures, and sells rare items brought over from Rockhopper Island. When he comes to Club Penguin, he always gives away a free item in the Pirate Catalog. Players can sometimes see Rockhopper in random places in random servers when he lands in Club Penguin. Players can receive a free gift from Rockhopper from his player card. Rockhopper is named after the real-life Southern Rockhopper Penguin.

Club Penguin has a multitude of servers, and Rockhopper can be hard to find. Trackers are not an option, because they are fake, but some work with lookouts on servers.

untitled

  • Sensei

Sensei, (formerly known as ??????), is a penguin that first appeared when the Dojo got severely damaged by lightning, claiming to have returned from “a long journey”. He used to be seen at the Dojo Exterior, but now he can be found inside the Dojo, sitting on the cushion next to the variable-colour pot. He has the color Gray, which is not currently available to players and appears to be a very old Penguin. He has a small white beard (Possibly he is related to Rockhopper), thick white eyebrows, and a conical straw hat. He was seen digging out the Dojo. He later revealed he would launch a card game for training Ninjas, known as “Card Jitsu”. His name was revealed to be “Sensei” or the Japanese word for ‘teacher’, implying he is the ninja trainer. Apparently, he said that came over from far away to return, which means he has been to Club Penguin before. He presently is handing out Starter Packs in the Dojo to players training to become ninjas. He also awards penguins colored belts for their progress in the Card Jitsu. Also, once players get a black belt, Sensei can be challenged and if one wins, they become a true Ninja. Sensei will always pick the opposite card of what you pick, unless you are a black belt.

On July 3 to July 5, Ninjas were able to meet Sensei at the Ninja Hideout, and teach them a new trick (a cloud maker). The award for finding him is an autographed background.

untitled

  • The Penguin band

The Penguin Band is Club Penguin’s official band. It is made up of four penguins. There once was a scavenger hunt when penguins had to find the Band’s instruments. Once players found the instruments, their penguin was rewarded with a player card background featuring the band. Another background was given out during the Music Jam party when the band went on break. Like Rockhopper, the band members can be seen sometimes during certain parties, on random servers signing autographed backgrounds and talking to penguins.

XLIX. Moderators

  • Billybob

Billybob is a well-known Club Penguin Moderator, who often posts news on the official Club Penguin blog. One of his test accounts is Mace, and as revealed in a recent blog post. Billybob’s real name is Lane Merrifield but in certain cases people think this is Rsnail, and that Billybob created Club Penguin, But, the real main creator was Rsnail. He is one of the founders of Club Penguin. He can be seen in disguise in some blog pictures. He has the dark black colour that is not available to normal penguins. It should be noted that Rockhopper also has this color.

  • rsnail-Rocketsnail

Rsnail is a well-known moderator on Club Penguin. Along with Billybob, he is the creator of Club Penguin. Rsnail’s real name is Lance Priebe. Rsnail is the founder of Rocketsnail Games, which is consisted of games that he created with the help of the Rocketsnail Games team. Sadly, the website was shut down due to lack of funds but, it came back with a blog. Now, his website has re-opened as a small blog. The most popular Rocketsnail Games game was Penguin Chat 3, which is what the Club Penguin team used as a rough draft for Club Penguin. The Rocketsnail Games logo is, unsurprisingly, a snail strapped to a rocket. Rsnail used to post frequently on the Club Penguin during the Beta Testing days, but Billybob now does the majority of the posts, while Rsnail posts occasionally. Gary the Gadget Guy has a model of the Rocketsnail Games logo in his room. This logo/model has appeared in Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force and Mission #4. He is currently the only Penguin to have a lowercase letter at the start of his name. Everyone else who had a name a lowercase at the start was changed to an uppercase after the Club Penguin updates. Rsnail has a test penguin called “Nickname1″. Rsnail’s name is a contraction of Rocketsnail.

  • Happy77

Happy77 is a Club Penguin Moderator. On Penguin Chat 3, she was seen at least once as a snail. Happy77′s test penguin is called “Luv2dance160″. Happy77′s real name is Rachael Leards. She is thought of to have another account named DaisyLemon because of one picture in a blog post.

  • Gizmo

Gizmo is one of the moderators. Gizmo’s real name is David Krysko. He is usually active on servers Sleet and Frozen. He is in charge of the parties, parades, and fun events around Club Penguin. Gizmo joined the Club Penguin team on December 29th, 2005. His test account is “Vader2006″, this is understandable, as “Gizmo” is an Ultimate Safe Chat penguin and “Vader2006″ is not. Gizmo seems to be the most active out of all Moderators. He is a level 4 member and is usually seen with the soccer ball pin. Recently Gizmo’s test penguin Vader2006 has been hacked. Gizmo also shares “Freesing” with Screenhog. Vader2006 has been saying, “I am not Gizmo! I made this penguin! I was lieing!” But this might be just because the account had been hacked. Because of the hack the penguin may have been banned, so now Gizmo’s new test penguin might be 5vader5 but this could be not true, but 5vader5 says he works for Club Penguin, but so does Helper Test.

  • Screenhog

Screenhog is a moderator. He sometimes writes in the What’s New Blog just like Billybob does, though not as often. Screenhog (the penguin) has all the items in Club Penguin. Screenhog also does not enjoy crowds much. Screenhog’s real name is Chris Hendricks. He is the graphic designer of Club Penguin. He was shown on the old Developer Blog working on a computer. His site is here. He shares a test account called Freesing with Gizmo to squash bugs. Freesing wears the Jolly Roger Flag pin most of the time. He also wears the Aunt Arctic background with his pin.

OTHER SEGNIFICANT PENGUINS

  • PSA Director

The Director of the P.S.A. is a mysterious penguin who leads the PSA, however nobody has been told the name of the penguin. Although the only thing that has been revealed is that the penguin is not G, Rookie, Dot (who appears in the Club Penguin Nintendo DS game, Elite Penguin Force), or Jet Pack Guy. The Director does not take a major role around the game and mainly takes a background role. This therefore makes it unlikely for him to step out the shadow in anyway as he has not affected any of the Secret Agent storyline in any notable way.

More to be added every once in a while! So stay tuned for more! ;)
